WHY SELF-RELIANCE?

As much as safe drinking water accessibility is our focus, we also recognize that the poor have the opportunity to process, bottle and distribute safe drinking water in their regions. A decentralized network of social enterprises selling water, an essential commodity, can change lives. This program, therefore, is one to solve several chronic issues at the same time: limited access to safe water, generational poverty, frustrations of the lack of gainful employment (especially young men between 16 to 35) and the marginalization of women and girls as they walk up to 6 miles per day in many regions gathering water for their families, leaving no time for education.

Safe water enterprises done right, with IoT Cloud oversight, off-grid purification technology, and opportunity to lift women into positions of the middle-class…this is how you drive progress on all 17 of the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals.
